Abnormal Fund Flow Detected in BNB Chain CodexField Project
On July 9, on-chain investigator Specter issued a warning about the risk of fund misappropriation in the CodexField project on BNB Chain. On-chain tracking shows that the project has generated over $85 million in funds. The investigator discovered abnormal fund flows: a wallet transferred 17.3 million USDT from TRON to Ethereum, and then exchanged it for DAI through Bitget Swap on Polygon. Currently, $6.5 million has been transferred, while the remaining $10.8 million is still in motion. The funds were initially bridged from Ethereum to TRON about six months ago, with the source wallet related to CodexField's deposit contract. The project requires users to deposit a minimum of $100 to participate, and the blockchain security tool Blocksec MetaSuites has flagged the deposit contract as "Fake CodexField." However, the investigator believes that the contract is operated by the CodexField team, which uses multiple domain names and subdomains to receive user deposits. The method of fund flow is unusual, bridging across multiple chains, routing through intermediary wallets, and ultimately sending to centralized exchanges. Specter stated that based on on-chain activities, the project warrants high vigilance and advises users interacting with CodexField to exercise extreme caution until the team provides a transparent explanation of the fund flows.
