Japan will continue to engage in dialogue with the United States to seek a mutually beneficial agreement.

Through past negotiations with the United States, Japan successfully avoided a situation where tariffs would rise to 30% to 35%. The United States has proposed to continue talks until the new deadline of August 1st.
