Inflation in Ukraine Decreased to 7.2%, NBU Warns of Price Increases

In June 2026, inflation in Ukraine was 7.2% year-on-year, while consumer prices decreased by 0.1% month-on-month. These figures align with the forecast of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU). The overall price growth slowdown was due to a 0.2% decrease in the prices of raw food products year-on-year, particularly pork, chicken, and eggs. The rise in fuel prices slowed to 33.4% due to falling prices for diesel and autogas. However, core inflation continues to rise under the pressure of production costs, such as increasing electricity prices and wages. Services increased by 13.7% year-on-year, while processed products remained at 10.4%. Administrative prices rose to 10.7% due to increased tariffs for water supply and the steady rise in the prices of alcohol and tobacco. The NBU warns of potential price increases in the coming months due to high labor costs and planned increases in water tariffs and public transport fares. An updated macroeconomic forecast will be published on July 30, 2026.
