Joerg Hiller May 06, 2025 01:44 Ethereum launches a new internship program to bridge the gap for newcomers, offering remote opportunities across various fields. Applications for host organizations close May 28, 2025. The Ethereum Foundation has announced a groundbreaking initiative aimed at nurturing the next generation of blockchain innovators through its Ethereum Season of Internships. This initiative addresses the challenge of retaining new talent within the Ethereum ecosystem by offering structured early-career opportunities, as reported by the official Ethereum blog. What is the Ethereum Season of Internships? The Ethereum Season of Internships is a coordinated collection of paid, fully remote summer internships available across the Ethereum ecosystem. This program seeks to provide newcomers with a platform to apply their diverse skills in development, research, design, marketing, finance, legal, and more. The initiative aims to create a sustainable pipeline for new talent, transforming them into committed long-term contributors. Internship Structure The internships are designed to last 12 weeks, from August to October 2025, and are open to all, especially early-career professionals and students. Various teams throughout the Ethereum ecosystem will host the interns. These positions offer both full-time and part-time roles, with compensation determined by the host organizations. Hosting an Intern Organizations interested in hosting interns have a unique opportunity to connect with passionate talents and potentially future hires. To qualify as a host, teams must be active contributors to the Ethereum ecosystem and align with its core values such as decentralization and open-source innovation. Hosts are expected to provide clearly defined projects and learning outcomes, support and mentor interns, and document their experiences to improve future iterations. Application Process Applications for organizations wishing to host interns close on May 28, 2025. Even organizations unable to host this summer can still contribute by listing beginner-friendly issues in their repositories, thus supporting the broader community. Building a Resilient Ecosystem The Ethereum Season of Internships is a call to action for ecosystem leaders to join in cultivating a resilient environment for budding blockchain experts. By participating, hosts play a pivotal role in shaping the next wave of Ethereum contributors. The Ethereum Foundation is set to open intern applications in the coming weeks, with announcements on the application process and available positions expected soon.
