28 Pedophiles Arrested, Norwegian Police Identify Monero (XMR) Users

The Norwegian police have contributed to the arrest of 28 individuals in Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Germany for pedocriminality. Law enforcement seized over 460 items, including storage media, electronic devices, documents related to sexual abuse of minors, cryptocurrency wallets, narcotics, and doping substances. The suspects, aged between 22 and 54, may be linked to other forthcoming arrests. Three children were protected during the searches. Kripos developed a method last year to track the use of Monero in specific cases, allowing for the identification of these users. The investigation is ongoing, highlighting that anonymity on the web remains relative, even for assets considered untraceable.
